Surely one of the best Australian exports ever! Vegemite has been made in Australia (proudly it says on the jar) since 1923. It is a simple yet great tasting spread that is ideal for those with savoury tastebuds. The yeast extract spread comes from yeast grown on Barley and has few other ingredients added, except for two ... Read the complete review

The other day for some reason I was discussing the difference between Vegemite and Marmite with my husband who was vehement that there is absolutely no difference between the two. Now, I hadn't eaten Vegemite in years, but as our Marmite jar was just emptied I decided to get this instead as I know I used to like it. Also I noticed it was a bit ... Read the complete review

I'd always presumed vegemite was more or less the same as Marmite as both are suitable for Vegetarians (contrary to popular belief) and made mainly from yeast extract. In Sainsburys recently, they had Vegemite on half price offer and my usual Marmite next to this looked bluddy expensive so I popped a jar of this in my ... Read the complete review

Im one of those who loves marmite and has grown up on it, yet on my recent travels to Australia I noticed that everybody would ask 'Do you like vegemite?' of which i didnt know what to say. Vegemite is hated by many but loved by a lot and if something makes a small proportion of the world happy then surely it deserves a good write-up! Vegemite is made by Kraft and has been made since 1923 in Australia. It's like marmite but with more vegetable undertones and clearly kicks Bovril and Marmite out of the competition. Whether it's spread ... Read the complete review

Vegemite is a yeast extract spread from Australia. It is similar to Marmite but doesn't have such a salty and bitter taste or such a strong flavour. Personally I don't like Marmite at all, however I am a big Vegemite fan. It contains malt extract and vitamin B's, this means it is also very good for you. The B vitamins it contains ... I’ve been trying to cut back on expenditure recently and decided to turn to the kitchen. The stock cube is one area even though mine have been on special offer I decided to try substituting yeast extract. There are only 2 worthy choices in the UK; MARMITE and the other. Youve all probably seen this on sale in your local supermarket, glanced at it even as youve perused the jam, honey selections and other sandwich type filling selections. Maybe you think like I used to…somewhere along the lines of “well I hate Marmite and THAT stuff looks like its similar, so NO WAY am I buying it”. Then I became ... Read the complete review
