Advantages: Multi-purpose cleaning in the home
Disadvantages: Smells like vinegar ha ha
Ok, first off keep an open mind and think about the credit crunch and old school ways of cleaning!
I have recently been converted to WHITE VINEGAR (please don't use brown!!!) as a cleaner and disinfectant. A bottle of white vinegar costs around 50p (tesco own brand) and has a multitude of uses. It lasts months and is so much cheaper than the alternative cleaning products i would use otherwise.
First off i use it as a fabric conditioner (i did say keep an opend mind) - i put 1-2 capfuls in my conditioner drawer of the washing machine and my clothes come up smelling of the washing powder i have used. No vinegar smell at all on my clothes although occassionally the machine will have a vinegar odour which soon goes. I air dry my clothes and they are soft and my towels are always fluffy!
I also use it as a cleaner, diluted 1 part vinegar to 3/4 parts water i use it to wipe and wash my sides/cupboard doors and floors. I also use it in the bathroom! It does smell of vinegar but soon clears if you open a window and the cleaning ability of vinegar is amazing!
I kid you not. This is a war time trick and what have you got to lose. Give it a try :)
Summary: Try it - what do you have to lose!

- 01/02/09 ooo i got a can of coke that will never get drunk on the microwave may try popping some in - i am very open minded. I know they use coke to clean blood spills in usa at sites of car accidents and also good for grease and oil apparently. Hence the reason i won't drink it :) |

- 01/02/09 I'm going to get some. You know I've been using full fat coke - the fishermen use a cupfull of coke to get the fish smell out of their clothes, and it also cleans DesignJet printer ink off clothes and cleans up my hob beautifully. So I'm open minded that vinegar will work too :-) |
