Sorry Waitrose but these are as dry as an old bone! I love chocolate brownies especially the ones my daughter makes. She is vegan and a great cook and makes some which melt in your mouth and are sticky and gooey and everything a brownie should be. Sadly she is at uni at the minute so I saw these in Waitrose and as all their products are normally very good I was expecting great things. Packaged in an attractive black box with a brown gingham trim these look expensive and give the impression of quality. I'm so glad I don't make New Year resolutions, as shortly after arriving at my daughter's house she was making a cup of tea and asked if we would like a Brownie or an Empire biscuit. Had I decided to be good and lose some weight I wouldn't have been able to try the Brownies from Waitrose that she raves about! Waitrose is a rather smarter Supermarket than my usual Tesco, and a lot of the prices prove this. I have a very sweet tooth and I love cakes and probably my favourite cake type thing is chocolate brownies. Yum, even the thought of them makes me feel hungry. Most of the time I bake chocolate brownies myself but every now and again you want to have something nice to eat but can't be bothered baking so this was when I discovered what I think are the best shop bought brownies. They are Waitrose's Belgian Chocolate Brownies, even the name tells you this is going to be a quality product (and also that they aren't going to be cheap!)
