Advantages: A nice idea......almost inspired in fact....

Disadvantages: But poorly executed and not much different from Smoky Bacon variety!

These were the second of the new flavours that I decided to try and, to be honest, the jury is still out on how I feel about their taste....supposedly combining the flavours of a traditional english breakfast, the crisps are alleged to be made up of bacon, egg and sausage flavours reminiscent of the most important meal of the day.

My initial response was one of huge disappointment; I had read reviews on here that compared this variety to something created in the factory of Willy Wonka in that each crisp tastes of a different part of the breakfast. Maybe if you eat one crisp at a time, this works but I have this tendency to just pile them in one after the other; hence for me, all the flavours seem to blend into one. And, as I like to think that is the way most people eat their crisps, really this makes the idea of combining several diffrent flavours a bit of a pointless one. For me, these crisps are like the already present Smoky Bacon flavour with just a hint of added depth that all-too-easily could be missed. In fact, if blindfolded, I would probably think these were Smoky Bacon. Certainly there is nothing here that would make me actively go out and buy them again!!

The only time I noticed any other flavour in fact, was when I got one of the crisps that is flavoured of egg and, as another reviewer has mentioned, the taste is very much like that of a boiled egg. Not a juicy, yolky fried egg of the kind that really makes a good British Builders breakfast.

The more of these flavours I try, the more I think this is a very poor gimmick by Walkers trying desperately to kick a bit of fun into a normally fairly average product. With soi much competition on the market nowadays, Walkers are no longer the King of crisps they once were and, certainly, these newest flavours have done little to convince me otherwise!

Summary: Another flawed creation in the newest range from Walkers!

I much prefer Seabrook - I think they are beginning to give Walkers a run for their money.
