Alright darlin', lovely crisps!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so we are told, and sometimes there is nothing better than a big fry up, bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, etc with lots of mugs of hot tea! Yummy. This can also be classified as, "The Builders Breakfast," a big hearty meal to get your day off to a great start and set you up with enough fuel for the rest of the day.

The Builders Breakfast is one of the new flavours of Walkers crisps. They describe it as, "A sound combination that fills your heart and stomach with joy." It's the building blocks of society and the foundation stone of a better day. As any good man with a shovel would say...dig in! So dig in I did and what did I think of them?

Well, firstly a bit of background as to this new flavour choice. Walkers are polling the Great British people to try and find the next flavour of crisps. A few months back they asked for people to submit flavour combinations to them in hopes of it becoming the next Walkers flavour. They have now shortlisted six flavours which they have produced but only one will survive and it's up to us to decide which one it is.

The six flavours that they have brought out for a limited time are:

Fish and Chips
Builder's Breakfast
Cajun Squirrel
Chilli and Chocolate
Crispy Duck and Hoisin
Onion Bhaji

Once you have tried the flavours and have a favourite you can then vote to make sure they keep the one you like best. There are various ways to vote. You can either go on line, text your vote, Facebook your vote or e-mail your vote. Apparently, the person who came up with the flavour that wins will get £50,000 and 1% of the future sales of their flavour, not bad! The runners up will each get £10,000 too!

This flavour has been suggested by Emma who wanted a flavour that was truly British and at the same time put a smile on everyone's face. The picture on the front of the packet is a picture of a smiley face made up of eggs, bacon and sausages. So, did it put a smile on my face?

Well, before I tried them I was hoping to really like these as I do love a good fry up. I was hoping for a bit of an egg taste from the crisps with a bit of meat flavour thrown in. Well, what I got was mostly just a meaty, bacon flavour. These crisps to me just tasted mostly like a bag of Smokey Bacon that Walkers already have in their range with a bit of a twinge of something else, but a bit of an indescribable flavour. It's not to say that they were bad, just not that different from a flavour that is already out there.
