Good ol' English in a packet of crisps! (Walker's Crisps - Builder's Breakfast)

Advantages: Great flavours, not too overpowering.

Disadvantages: Didn't wow me, but nice try.

This is one of the latest flavours from 'Walkers' as part of a campaign for a new addition to the product line where consumers can vote for their favourite flavour.

For me, this sounded like the most interesting flavour of the whole campaign. The one I was very eager to try to see what flavours they had taken from one of my favourite dishes; a good ol' English breakfast! Surprisingly I think they've done very well, though I'm undecided whether this is a flavour I would become to love, it's a good flavour, though not one that I would be crying out for again - I'd eat them if they were going around.

You'll definitely notice the egg and bacon flavour as you taste these crisps. It works well in the mouth, and seeing as I generally like bacon flavoured crisps it was good to see they had got the flavour right. The egg is quite subtle, more so than the bacon, so you aren't too put off. The bag also smells of both flavours but yet again it isn't insanely strong. Maybe this is going too far, but maybe a dash of tomato in there might have spruced things up a little?

I bought this packet along with the other five flavours in the campaign:

- Cajun Squirrel
- Chilli & Chocolate
- Crispy Duck & Hoisin
- Fish & Chips
- Onion Bharji

The pack of six, offering two packets of three flavours was on offer from my local Somerfield at a 'Buy one get one free' deal for £1 a pack.

All in all this is a nice flavoured packet of crisps, but it hasn't really wowed me so another flavour would get my vote. If however you disagree, you can vote for free by texting "BREAKFAST" to 51199.
