Advantages: Lots of people like them, was the flavour competition winner

Disadvantages: Very strong eggy taste and smell

Intrigued by the adverts for the Walkers new crisp flavour competition, I purchased packets of several of the different types of new crisps in the pub one night to share with some friends whilst having drinks. Out of all the new flavours we tried, this is the one that I remembered the most - and not in a good way!

The bag was a little bigger than your average bag of crisps and cost a little more than average to buy individually - around 70p to a pound. However, crisps are always expensive in pubs so I would recommend buying them from a supermarket instead! The design of the bag followed the same theme as the other flavours in the competition - plain whitish colour overall with the flavour written in big letters, and an illustration in the centre. The illustration for this particular flavour shows a face made out of the various components of a full English breakfast.

Upon opening the bag, the first thing that hit me was a very strong smell of egg - yuck. Although I do like eggs and there are very few smells I don't like, I found this particular smell really off-putting.

I must admit I didn't get a great first impression, and it was with some trepidation that I put a crisp in my mouth. Instantly I wished I hadn't! These are probably the most disgusting crisps I have ever eaten. The taste of egg is absolutely overpowering and covers any faint taste of bacon, beans, and buttered toast that is supposed to be part of the flavour. I gave the rest of the packet to my friend who actually seemed to quite like them. I guess we're all different - and a lot of people obviously like these as this flavour actually won the Walkers competition in the end!
