I'm a traditional girl at heart and when it comes to crisps I know what I like, cheese and onion and nothing else. Imagine my distain when I heard that Walkers were holding a contest to come up with a new flavour that far from being a one minute wonder novelty would actually be sold all year round!

What new flavours would there be I wondered? well I was truly horified by the 6 flavours that were put to the test recently (squirrel crisps?!) and even less impressed by the winner....Builders Breakfast? come on, any mug could have thought of that one.

I love a good fry up but unless it involves a plate ful of eggs, bacon and beans with toast I'm not interested. Some work colleagues thought it would be fun to bring some of these new crisps in and have a tasting day to see which ones we liked best....I was nearly sick at my desk on tasting these foul excuses for a snack.

I can only describe Builders Breakfast crisps as tasting like sweaty week old onions that have been left out in the sun to shrivel and slowly die. I certainly wanted my taste buds to die after putting these in my mouth. They leave a greasy aftertase on the tongue and smell like my boyfriends farts first thing in the morning after a heavy night with 20 beers and a curry, grim.

I wonder how long these will stay in the shops for as most people I've spoken to have the same opinion of them. The person who created these is sitting pretty with a tonne of money in the bank but I wonder for how long the royalties will keep rolling in?
