Advantages: They taste good and are healthier than some other crisps

Disadvantages: The packs are too small

First sold in September 2006, WALKERS BAKED is a relatively new addition to the Walkers Crisps range and is a product which they are using to try to attract customers who are interested in a more healthy style of eating. Now I don't think that crisps are ever going to be considered 'healthy' but these crisps contain 70% less fat than regular crisps, 98 calories per bag, and the pack sizes are only 25 grams. This is quite a small amount to have in a packet these days, although it does mean that you don't eat too many. The only problem I have is that I often buy 2 bags and eat them one after another!

How do they taste? Well to be honest I mainly buy these for the taste as opposed to the health aspects. They feel less greasy than others crisps, and certainly leave less of a residue on my hands than many other brands. The taste is very good, they have a different texture to those of the normal Walkers Crisps, slightly thicker and with ridges. The crisp definitely passes the taste-test. I have also had the Salt & Vinegar flavour which I may do a review of shortly. Walkers also make Sour Cream & Chive and Cheese & Onion flavours, which I am less likely to review as I am not fond of these flavours in any of the crisps that I eat.

I have just checked Sainsburys Online and seen that they have individual packs of the Ready Salted flavour available for 35p each, although I would strongly recommend buying the multipacks in order to get the best value for money. A 12 pack is currently £1.95 which I am sure you will agree is a much better deal.

Ingredients: potato flakes, starch, sunflower oil, sugar, emulsifier (soya lecithin), dextrose, salt.

The product has no artificial flavour and is suitable for vegans, which is always a good thing in my household as my partner is a vegan.

I'm a Walker's Crisp addict since I gave up the fags back in March. (Ready salted) But I haven't tried these ones yet.
