Walkers Cajun Squirrel Flavour Crisps

Description: Manufacturer: Walkers / Type: Crisps

Newest Review: ... it's got a strong and solid taste nonetheless. The various seasonings flaked over the crisps is also rather alluring, and ... more

... like all Walkers crisps, they deliver a rather satisfying crunch when you bite into them and churn them around in your mouth. My only real gripe is that there seems to be little reason for these crisps to exist - when they taste so ridiculously similar to Chicken and BBQ flavours, why were they the ones chosen by Walkers? Why not create a vastly different flavour instead? Seems like a waste of a flavour, really. What's most depressing about these crisps, and in fact in each of the new range, is the fat content - for some...more

Premium Review Walkers Cajun Squirrel Flavour Crisps: I'm nuts for squirrel crispies! (522 words)

When it comes to what food is called I'm well funny about it! So these being called 'Cajun Squirrel' was totally off putting to me! However today I actually plucked up the courage to try them finally as they were on offer in my local Nisa store at 29p a bag instead of the usual 59p! The Packaging.... 46g bag (in this instance). Light blue and dark green on the outside of the packet and silver foil within the bag (for freshness). On the front of the bag I'm told they are Walkers Cajun Squirrel Flavour Potato crisps then I'm asked to vote for this flavour and there is a cute picture of a squirrel (cartoon stylie) trying to get through a fence and I'm ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review No squirrels were hamred in the making of these crisps. (340 words)

This is one of the latest flavours from 'Walkers' as part of a campaign for a new addition to the product line where consumers can vote for their favourite flavour. 'Cajun Squirrel'?! What? Squirrel? I do hope no squirrels were harmed in the making of these crisps. I'm not entirely sure why these crisps are called 'Cajun Squirrel', well the Cajun is obvious but not the squirrel. It's a great addition to the campaign however because it's fun for the kids and maybe opens them up to a new flavour. I'm sure the kids will be voting for the Squirrel! I could guess what I was about to taste when I opened the packet, and hoped that they hadn't messed this ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Walkers Cajun Squirrel Flavour Crisps: Do squirrels really taste like roast chicken? (749 words)

My purchase of this bag of Walkers' Cajun Squirrel flavour crisps was the fourth in my product testing of all things crispy, as I attempt to research and discover the best crisps currently on the market. The Cajun Squirrel flavour crisps also make up my second attempt of sampling the six trial flavours which Walkers have produced based on recommendations by members of the public (the first was Fish & Chips). Votes in by 1 May 2009, so don't forget! PACKAGING: The Cajun Squirrel bag is bordered with green at the top and bottom of the bag and a green "Vote For Me!" rosette. A cartoon-style drawing shows a squirrel peering innocently through ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Furry Little Animals (712 words)

Furry little animals. So, I vowed never to eat a packet of Cajun squirrel crisps but when they were the only flavour left in the supermarket and after reading on the back of the packet that "no actual squirrels were harmed in the making," then I relented and decided to bite the bullet (or squirrel as the case may be)! Just as a little bit of background on the subject that I have added to my other reviews too, as you all know, Walkers Crisps are polling the Great British people to try and find the next flavour of crisps. A few months back they asked for people to submit flavour combinations to them in hopes of it becoming the next Walkers ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Walkers Cajun Squirrel Flavour Crisps: Not squirrel and not really that cajun either... (388 words)

Thank god thats over- is my first response on trying this final Walkers flavour. As determined as I was to try all six finalists in the Walkers "do us a flavour" campaign, there have been times when I felt I was taking part in some kind of human scientific taste test. Give me some plain ready salted someone, my taste receptors need a holiday!!! Cajun Squirrel flavour is actually a mis-nomer in that the crisps contain less squirrel in them (i.e none) than Walkers vegetarian-friendly chicken flavoured crisps! There is plenty of cajun spice however and that is evident from the moment you put a crisp into your mouth. The problem is that cajun seasoning ...  Read the complete review
