Advantages: Taste nice, Not a hot curry

Disadvantages: Other people in my house nick them!

Ok, here goes my third and final Great British Takeaways Crisps Op...... unless Walkers start inventing more. Where are the Pie and Mash flavoured ones? Or the good old Fish n Chips (I know there are new fish n chip ones but not part of this range so it doesn't count :oP)Or even the Big Mac flavoured ones! I am sure they are all great british takeaways too... but I am getting away from the point, so I will stop thinking of new flavours for Walkers to punish me with :o)

I was very doubtful when first seeing this flavour if I would actually like them, seeing as I am not a fan of Indian Takeaway but as they were in the multipack along with the other flavours (sweet n sour & spare rib) I had no choice but to bring them into my house. Where they were eaten while I wasn't looking! No one has owned up to eating the two bags either!

So as I said I would be doing an op on all three in the range, I had to go to my local post office/minimart to buy a packet.... costing me 35p! Alot more expensive than buying them in a multipack (97p for 6 in Tesco... even cheaper when it's but 2 get 1 free) but no way was I going to have any more of the spare rib flavour in the house :oP

You get more in the individual bags... a whopping 34.5gs, so of course there are more calories (181 kcal) and more fat (11.4g) but if they are nice it also means there are more crisps :o)

Like the other two in the range these are suitable for both vegetarians and coeliacs and the bag is the same layout as the others but in a purpley colour this time. (I still think the pattern on the bag looks more Celtic! Maybe this is the british part!)

Suppose I better get round to opening these now, you might have been able to tell I am stalling here :oP

They smell mildly currified... almost like homepride curry sauce in a tin, which I actually like, so maybe things will be ok! :o)

The crisp themsleves are covered in a paprika like coloured powder
with bits of green dotted about, either mould or herbs.... I hope it's herbs!

The important bit.... the tasting!

They are quite nice. Not greasy like the Spare Rib ones. And not like a cross between different flavours like the Sweet n Sour ones. They taste of mild curry. And I mean mild.... very very mild. I'm not sure if there is actually any chicken flavour to be tasted, but then chicken never tastes of much apart from curry in a curry anyway! They don't leave your mouth gasping for water. This is a mild curry (my Mum's ones were hotter)!

Now I have eaten about half the bag and I must change my initial "quite nice" to "very nice"! No wonder whoever ate the two bags in the cupboard aren't owning up :oP

A little while after there isn't an aftertaste as such, but that could be because I just had a large glass of coke due to the heat of the weather not the crisps :oP

There you have it.... my final Great British Takeaways Op. I am quite glad that I saved these til last, as I really thought they would be foul but turned out to be the best of the lot. Isn't it nice when a pleasant suprise happens :o)

So you can guess that I will buy these again... but not as part of the multipack. For all those that think, like me, that they will be awful you may be in for a nice suprise too! :o)

Happy munching
Sarah :o)

Having been "off" crisps for years, I have just got back into them. These I shall try. :-)
