Advantages: good texture and crunchiness

Disadvantages: everything else

I am unashamedly a walkers crisps fan. They are one of those rare products which it really is worth splashing the extra cash for. The packaging for these BBQ rib flavour crisps is appropriate and attractive, and I expected a lot, but was highly disappointed. In fact, I only managed to eat half a dozen. The texture and crunchiness of the crisps is just the same as other varieties, but that's where the good points end. Firstly, I found the taste far too strong and intense: it just completely overpowered me, and the potatoes themselves. Secondly, and more importantly, the flavouring tasted artificial and almost chemical-like. I appreciate that, to produce a crisp flavour as specific as this, it probably isn't possible to use all natural ingredients, but surely the idea is to produce a product that doesn't make that fact obvious. In this case I think Walkers have failed spectacularly, and it's not a flavour I will be buying again. In my opinion Walkers should stick to doing a few flavours well rather than endlessly coming out with new and more extraordinary varieties.

Summary: A flavour too far.
