Advantages: THE TASTE
Disadvantages: THE SMELL THAT LINGERS AFTER EATING THEM
Isn't it funny how sometimes the most simple things are those which please us the most?
Walkers pickled onion crisps are, for me, one of those simple things.
The outside of the bag is nothing special, a light green colour, with all the usual details that you expect to see on a bag of crisps (fat content etc) and I wont bore you with these details. I will say, however that the cost of the crisps is around 40p for a standard sized bag, the weight being 34.5g.
Ok, now on to the fun stuff......
The taste is amazzzzzzing! A lovely explosion of tangy pickled onion bursts on your tastebuds and leaves you wanting more... and more.. (oops). Thank goodness (for my waistline at least) that walkers do not make these available in a larger bag or I dread to think what size I would be!
The taste has an almost "vinegary" quality to it, and the crisps are generally of the genre that have so much flavouring on them that your tongue is quite sensitive after eating them. (I remember that on one occasion they were so strong that I couldn't finish the bag..... this was, however very much a "one off" incident.... thank goodness!)
The only draw back might be that the flavour leaves your mouth a bit, ermm, oniony! Perhaps NOT the best snack for a romantic picnic with your new beau....?
Anybody who likes strong flavoured crisps and has yet to try these should do so immediately! I'd bet a stick of good quality mint gum that you won't be dissapointed..! :-D
In a nutshell, if you are eating these anywhere other than at home, make sure you eat a mint or something similar before that meeting with your boss, that promising interview, that exciting first date etc...! Believe me when I say you don't want to be caught out with the stench of these on your breath. (Unless of course, you hate your boss, you're not really bothered about that interview, or you're trying to give a hint to the person on the date..?!) :-D
Summary: Worth the bad breath issues that they cause...
