I recently bought a multi-pack of Walker's crisps mainly due to the flavours in the multi-pack being a bit different to the ones I usually buy... I fancied a bit of a change! The three flavours were "Sour Cream and Chive", "Mango Chutney" and "Beef and Horseradish". The multi-pack has proven to be a bit of a 'hit and miss' in my house, because all three flavours within have tended to be 'just ok' and nothing too miraculous. The multi-pack of six packets cost me 99 pence which I felt offered very good value. I bought it from my local 'Farmfoods' frozen food store. The crisps in this range from Walkers are ... A couple of days ago my daughter gave me a multipack of crisps, new Walkers flavours based around the Gary's Great Trips promotion. The first packet I tried today was the Spicy Mango Chutney flavour (called Spicy ManGo-Karting for the duration of the promotion) and I must say they were absolutely delicious. The crisps come in a yellow-orange bag, which I wouldn't ordinarily mention but it's so similar to the Roast Chicken flavour that if these are available in single packs it would be very easy to pick the wrong flavour up! These Spicy Mango Chutney Crisps from Walkers are, as you might expect, sweet smelling, sweet tasting and, with their orangey hue, sweet looking. They come in a 25gm pack and in common with most of this Walkers range they do not disappoint. Flavour first, as I said a sweetness is very obvious but definitely tangy with it. Not at all unpleasant, I would not turn my nose up if these were on offer. The aroma has sweet curry sort of a hint and got my tast buds going. With anything you eat all three senses come into play you look, smell and taste and, basically if it looks good, smells good you expect it to taste good and must say these look good enough to eat. I havve been putting my girlfriend off trying these for a while. I have only just started to like mango chutney itself, and the thought of adding that flavour to a packet of crisps, in all honesty, scared me. Eventually, I relented and let her buy them. I was the first of us to try them, despite my protests that it was ridiculous as a flavour. I take back everything negative I ever said. These crisps are delicious. Not as sweet as their original influence, but instead they have a mild spice to them - a slightly tangy flavour. I can't say they taste very much like mango chutney, but more like a mixture of that and the spicy curry you would usually ... Read the complete review
