... well made crisp and you can tell the difference each time you open a bag, they do seem to be less each time I open a bag which can sometimes be a bit of a question mark as why so few, especially when you buy the multi packs and they always looked rammed full of crisps when you take then off the supermarket shelf. Always good flavours, never ate a bad crisp so their quality control must be of a good level and they have been around long enough to make quality. I do like the days when you could used to see in the bag, the mo...more

Premium Review Walkers Crisps Steak & Onion Flavour: What Meat Is It Anyway? (1014 words)

I spotted an enormous multipack bag containing 26 packets of different flavoured Walkers crisps at the weekend and, due to the fact it was on offer and that there were a couple of flavours I hadn't tried before I decided to buy it. Packaging. The front of the multipack bag is predominantly red and brown with the usual Walkers logo and various bands of colour telling you that it contains:- 4 x Roast Chicken 4 x Smoky Bacon 4 x Steak and Onion 4 x Salt and Vinegar 4 x Ready Salted 4 x Cheese and Onion. The back of the bag contains the usual lists of ingredients and nutritional information for each ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Crunchy meaty snack (377 words)

Normally I'm quite conservative when it comes to my crisp choices. My favourites have always been Salt & Vinegar and Ready Salted with the occasional foray into Prawn Cocktail territory. I was in my local Home Bargains last week and they were selling the larger pack for only 15p each so I bought a few packets to try. This flavour comes in a brown packet, similar to the old Beef & Onion flavour, which I thought was appropriate for a meaty flavour. The pack I bought was, as mentioned previously, the larger 50g size. Upon opening the packet, the smell immediately hit me. It was strong and definitely meaty, although not instantly recognisable as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Walkers Crisps Steak & Onion Flavour: Steaking a claim for these crisp delights (509 words)

So its Saturday and I am seriously bored. I left home at an insane time to ensure I would not be late for a job and as luck would have it shot through and have time to kill. Now if you are normal or sensible you get some shut eye or do something interesting but if you are me you go to the supermarket(I know I know).. So I am in a reasonably large Tesco having a mooch for bargains and I come across a six pack of these crisps for 55p! So in the name of research (honest)I bought them. The first thing that struck me was just how few crisps you get in a bag a whopping 25g! However that aside the smell as you open the bag is terrific really meaty and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sirloin on a crisp!! (417 words)

As I've mentioned in other reviews, over the years I have been 'addicted' to crisps. So much so from time to time I have actually banned myself from eating them. Two years was the longest I went without a packet. Sadly like all addictions, they often come back to haunt you. This has happened to me over the last couple of years.Temptation gave in and I was hooked again. I was in Home and Bargain yesterday and picked up 2 packets of Steak and Onion. I often find that Home and Bargain have the less popular crisps, with a small sell by date. I wonder if it is because the manufacturers have too many left of a certain flavour and have an agreement with Home and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Walkers Crisps Steak & Onion Flavour: Steak in a bag (332 words)

I rarely eat a packet of these but when we bought a multipack containing these in our weekly shop I felt I had to have a packet, since then I've eaten all of this flavour! I remember years ago when Marmite crisps first came out, tesco substituted them for these in our order, I wasn't keen then but actually was really impressed! As I said these came in a 'Meaty' multipack but I think you can also buy these in multipacks of 6 (£1.25) or on their own (around 40p), the singular bags are slightly bigger in size but this review is for the 25g multipack bag. The packaging is slightly different to that in the picture, the packet is a lighter brown colour and ...  Read the complete review
