Advantages: Taste, Quality

Disadvantages: None

I rarely eat a packet of these but when we bought a multipack containing these in our weekly shop I felt I had to have a packet, since then I've eaten all of this flavour! I remember years ago when Marmite crisps first came out, tesco substituted them for these in our order, I wasn't keen then but actually was really impressed! As I said these came in a 'Meaty' multipack but I think you can also buy these in multipacks of 6 (£1.25) or on their own (around 40p), the singular bags are slightly bigger in size but this review is for the 25g multipack bag.

The packaging is slightly different to that in the picture, the packet is a lighter brown colour and although the walkers logo is the same, the product title is in a different font. Upon opening the bag I am greeted by a strong meaty smell. The crisps are all a golden brown colour and each are flecked with small green pieces. There are a good number of crisps in the bag. Each crisp has a strong steak flavour but you can also detect the onion well. The crisps vary in size but all are of a good quality and it is obvious they have been produced using good quality potatoes.

Each multipack bag contains 131 calories, 8.3g fat (0.6g which saturates) and 0.35g of salt. I am told on the packet that there is no MSG, no preservatives, no artificial colours and they are suitable for both vegetarians and coeliacs. Therefore you can feed them to your children happily.

I really enjoyed these crisps. I am not a fan of either regular crisps or meaty flavoured crisps but I really like these due to the distinctive flavourings. I find that although they taste quite strong they do not leave an aftertaste. I would recommend these to anyone who likes meaty crisps (or marmite because they taste nearly the same as marmite crisps!).

Summary: Fab crisps
