Advantages: tasty, crunchy, chilli flavoured

Disadvantages: not healthy, too moreish, greasy fingers & broken ones at the bottom of the pack

I won't buy Doritos any longer because I generally find most flavours far too moreish & once I tuck in....

I was sorting out my teenage daughter's washing last night & found she hadn't finished the bag of Chilli Heatwave ones that were opened just an hour before - so for Dooyoo purposes you understand - I decided to try one or two (etc).

I hadn't seen this flavour before so didn't recognise the packaging which is a dark red heat-sealed foil one with Big Eat (55g) Chilli Heatwave with a picture of yummy Doritos which look good enough to eat.

When opened the smell of chilli & salt hits you plus there's a somewhat sweet aroma & when I first bit into one I didn't notice a particular strong taste & the texture was the same crunchy chewy one I'd always expected from Doritos.

However, moments later the taste really 'hit' me & I can definitely tell you that these are hot & if, like me you like strong flavours then I'd recommend them. Although they taste great as a stand-alone snack I think they'd be great with a cucumber & yoghurt or sour cheese dip as they are a bit 'samey' when you've had a few.

They are nice & crunchy but I found that bits stuck to my teeth, they were a bit too salty for my tastebuds & my fingers were greasy after eating a few.

They were pretty uniform in size but near the bottom of the bag (yes, I did a good job of sampling!) I found quite a few broken ones & had to lick my fingers to get the crumbs out.

The 55g pack cost 60p & contains 275 calories & 14g of fat so I definitely would only choose these as a treat as I could certainly eat a whole pack in moments.

There's a long list of ingredients - many of which include flavourings & artificial flavours - so I wouldn't recommend eating them if, like me, you are trying to eat more healthily.
If you're lucky enough not to have to care & you like sharp, hot flavoured snacks with a lot of 'bite' then I'd have to recommend you try Chill Heatwave Doritos.

Summary: if you're not on a diet & like fiery tasting food then worth a try
