Advantages: Lovely sweet warm chilli flavour, crunchy thick texture.

Disadvantages: The chilli is more of a warm summers evening than a heatwave!

Doritos Chilli Heatwave are crisps made by Walkers.

A pack of Doritos Chilli Heatwave crisps comes in a red bag which represents the fiery burning heat of the chilli flavoured crisps inside! They've also put some vaguely fiery patterns up and down the pack to reinforce the flavouring. Also included on the packet in text are the Doritos brand logo and the flavouring Chilli Heatwave.

Once you open the bag which is foil sealed for maximum freshness you will get a rather sweet chilli aroma, it's rather nice really!

Doritos are triangular shapes and nothing has changed here except for the coating which is now a deeper shade of red than on the other crisps, it is a kind of powder so it does get a bit mucky and finds its way onto your clothes and fingers if you are not to careful while eating. The crisps themselves have a good crunch to them and are thicker than a standard potato crisp as they are made from corn, the flavouring I would not describe as a heatwave but as a kind of sweet pleasant warm chilli, it does build if you pop more into your mouth but the sensation is never overwhelming.

If you like things really hot these may disappoint you with their rather mainstream approach to a hot and spicy crisp! I find them to be brilliant with the delicious sweet chilli taste with the warm sensation in your mouth really making for a great crisp.

These crisps are high in calories and fats so should be consumed in moderation, as is sadly the case with most delicious things!
