... other tortilla crisps and most of the supermarkets, in particular Tesco and Asda offer very similar flavoured tortilla crisps for half the price of Doritos. ***Cool Original Doritos*** When you open the bag you are immediately hit with quite a peppery yet tangy scent. The crisps in appearance are a lot more golden than the other flavours of Doritos and the colourings look a lot less unnatural and the tortillas are not covered in an unnatural coloured dust. (Those that have tried the tangy cheese flavoured Dorit...more

Since I have been working I have found myself snacking a lot in my breaks which I suppose is normal but it has also meant I have been going through a range of crisps and chocolate. My latest favourite which I hadn’t eaten for a while until last week were of course my favourite Dorito’s flavour Cool Original. Dorito’s are crisps that I have always loved and I know they have quite a big range from Cheese and Chilli Heatwave and their range of dips but Cool Original has always been my favourite as it is such a unique taste and the blue coloured packet has always been one I will gladly pick up. To make things less unhealthy when I buy Cool Original I tend to buy a ...  Read the complete review

I have written quite a few reviews on crisps and products that fall into this category. I love made of foil and recyclable. On the front a photograph of 2 tortillas and in white bold writing I'm clearly told that they are indeed Doritos and that the flavour is Cool Original and on the right hand side I'm given an at a glance nutritional chart. On the back I'm given full nutritional table, ingredients, best before date, size, and contact details for Walkers (the manufacturer of Doritos). My Opinion... Delicious and filling, with much more to them than crisps! Appearance wise they are triangles and golden in colour with black flecks (must be corn) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Walkers Doritos Cool Original Flavour: A Cool Crisp (422 words)

If you're used to sitting at home in front of a DVD on Saturday nights you'd probably be a lover of the great British tortilla, Walkers attempt at a Mexican classic- Doritos. I myself am a greater lover of them, but take a particular fondness to the 'cool' variety which I'll be reviewing here. We buy the cool Doritos six multi-pack for about £1.50 from Sainsbury's, although I understand ASDA is cheaper. The crisps of manufactured by walkers so you can guarantee to see them everywhere even though they aren't advertised. The 30 grams of chips are triangular shaped and curly at the ends, perfect for dipping. Doritos now sells its own brand of tortilla ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Play it cool (473 words)

When I was back at school, my school tuck shop went through a strange healthy eating phase where they decided to ban all potato crisps. However, they still allowed Doritos to be sold as they are made of corn (though I don't see how these were any healthier). This led to lots of us buying this snack and a fondness soon developed for the triangular shaped crisps. The packaging: The cool original flavour doritos come in a bright blue packet with the Doritos logo emblazoned on the front in white handwriting. There is then a picture of what the crisps look like as well as a quick guide to the nutritional information at the bottom. There is currently a ...  Read the complete review

We picked up a couple of multipacks of Doritos on offer this week, so obviously I've been munching my way through a few bags. The usual retail price is around 50p for an individual bag, or £1.50 for a multipack of six individual bags from the supermarket. I have to admit that the Cool Original Flavour aren't my first choice when it comes to choosing a Doritos flavour. Chilli Heatwave are my faves in fact. But tonight I fancied something a little bit different, and also, let's be honest, I didn't want to get in trouble for eating all of the Chilli packets... You might assume that these are just plain tortilla chip crisps, but actually they do ...  Read the complete review
