The shop by me is selling bags of these Fish And Chip flavour crisps for 10p each because he found a box of them in his storeroom and isn't allowed to sell them now the Find A Flavour competition has finished. I don't think they're even worth 10p though because they're nasty! Fish And Chip flavour is a wicked idea but they haven't been very well made and the crisps are proper greasy with a horrible taste of stale scampi or something like that. They taste of salt and the sort of vinegar they use in a chippy but the flavour is proper stale and made my tongue feel funny when I was eating them. I can sort of taste fish in them but it's a ... For me, fish and chips is best consumed by the seaside, seated near a pier or from the local chippy, provided it is a good one. The thought of having an entire bag of crisps drizzled in the aroma of fish and chips seems decidely dodgy. This flavour came out when Walkers introduced a selection of new flavours a few months ago to see which one the public liked best. It is perhaps telling that this flavour did not win the public vote. The taste of the crisps is hard to get your head around. How can you have a crisp that tastes of fish? And what sort of fish is it? It certainly does not have the meaty taste of a seasbass, nor the delicate flavour of a salmon and I ... Read the complete review

The Walkers "Do us a Flavour" campaign has been an interesting little niche whereby they have tested out a number of new flavours, such as Builders Breakfast (which won the competition in the end), Cajun Squirell, Chilli and Chocolate, and Fish and Chips. Fish and Chips is in fact the flavour I expected to win, simply because it's so quintessentially British. The crisps themselves, though, do leave some to be desired, and whilst they're not bad, they just feel like Salt and Vinegar with a little addition to give the presumption of Fish and Chips. They also give an incredibly strong whiff when you open the packet, so it's perhaps courteous to warn ... Read the complete review

This is one of the latest flavours from 'Walkers' as part of a campaign for a new addition to the product line where consumers can vote for their favourite flavour. Firstly I find it hard to define the flavour 'Fish & Chips' and that's maybe the start of why this isn't such a good flavour. Typically, fish and chips go hand in hand with salt and vinegar, and we all know that there is already this flavour in many variations from many brands already available in supermarkets. I found that this packet just offers a toned down version of 'Walkers Salt and Vinegar' flavour. There's less salt, and more focus is on the vinegar, which is nice, because I ... Does anyone remember the fish and chip crisps that were on the go in the 80s/early 90s? They were more like biscuits than crisps, some were shaped like fish and some like chips. They came in a packet that had mock newspaper print on it. I seem to remember that I liked them but my tastes were probably a lot less sophisticated in those days. So when I found out that one of the Walkers trial flavours was Fish and Chips, I imagined them as tasting somewhat similar. The strongest smell when opening the bag is definitely vinegar although there's a fishy undertone there aswell. Not an unpleasant smell - somewhat similar to Scampi Fries. I actually thought the smell ... Read the complete review
