Advantages: Tastes nice

Disadvantages: Unhealthy, not the best flavour

After trying the Builders' Breakfast flavoured crisps from Walkers, which was one of their six competition flavours, and enjoying them, I was excited to try others from the range to see if they were as nice. Having heard bad things about the Chilli and Chocolate flavour, and average things about Onion Bahji and Cajun Squirrel, I decided to give the Fish and Chips and the Crispy Duck and Hoisin flavours a go. I tried Fish and Chips first, as I was interested to see if this crisp flavour tasted anything like the real thing.

The taste of these crisps was very interesting, and not at all bad. The best way that I can describe the flavour is Salt and Vinegar crisps with a strong taste of scampi and tartare sauce. Since I would usually have fish and chips (or any fish for that matter) with tartare sauce, for me this was a genius taste to have as part of these crisps, as it gave them more of a sense of real Fish and Chips for me. The salt and vinegar flavour also makes sense, since this is what most people would have on top of their fish and chips. The fishy flavour is the only thing that is not quite right with these crisps, as it does taste more scampi-like than actual fish, but to be honest, getting a seafood flavour at all from simple crisp flavouring is pretty impressive, and the taste was nice enough. I found that although I slightly enjoyed the first few crisps, the taste actually grew on me more and more as I ate my way through the packet, and I loved them by the time I reached the end.

Despite tasting nice, these crisps aren't a great thing to eat, as with 240 calories, 24 carbs and 15 grams of fat per packet, they are in no way healthy. I suppose you could argue that they have significantly less calories, carbs and fat than a real meal of fish and chips, but they also don't taste anywhere near as nice, or fill you up as much.

In conclusion, I did really enjoy these crisps, but can't decided whether I like them more than the Builders Breakfast variety or not, so I'm unsure as to whether I'll vote for them or not. I would eat them again, but since the competition ends very soon (at the beginning of May I believe), unless this is chosen as the public's favourite flavour, I doubt I'll really have the opportunity to try them again. Either way, I would recommend going out and trying them before it's too late, and if you love them then you can vote to save them.

Summary: One of the 6 competition flavours
