Advantages: Some alright taste
Disadvantages: Not flavoursome enough
The Walkers "Do us a Flavour" campaign has been an interesting little niche whereby they have tested out a number of new flavours, such as Builders Breakfast (which won the competition in the end), Cajun Squirell, Chilli and Chocolate, and Fish and Chips.
Fish and Chips is in fact the flavour I expected to win, simply because it's so quintessentially British. The crisps themselves, though, do leave some to be desired, and whilst they're not bad, they just feel like Salt and Vinegar with a little addition to give the presumption of Fish and Chips. They also give an incredibly strong whiff when you open the packet, so it's perhaps courteous to warn those around you before you open them (and on the other side of the coin, maybe the smell can be harnessed as some sort of a chemical weapon). Although they're no means gross like Chilli and Chocolate (which is just the most beguiling mix I could ever have imagined), there's just no real kick here, and they feel like a pretty uninspired food stuff.
Like the entire new range of Walkers crisps, they're horrendously unhealthy, with a 46g bag boasting 240 calories and 15g of fat, and there's no real taste that justifies this (and even with the tastier ones, like Onion Bhaji, it still fails to justify such a preposterously unhealthy snack).
They're a very middling crisp in the six flavours up for a vote - they're neither horrible nor particularly delicious, so I can hardly imagine, when added with the poor reception on here, that they recieved many votes.
Summary: Middling, ok crisps
