Advantages: tasty, addictive, tasty
Disadvantages: -
If there is one thing I love more than chocolate it is crisps. Most people would normally think ' I am hungry and have to eat something'and would head for the hidden chocolate tin but me, I go to my crisp cupboard and find a flavour that I would like to eat. Today the flavour I decided to pick was Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps. I always have Walkers crisps in my cupboard because they have so many flavours and the crisps taste so great.
The first thing that grabs attention with these crisps is the packet colour. A bright pink packet made of foil and in the centrre a crisp which has a glow around it making it resemble the sun with the Walkers logo around it. On the back of the bag there are details of all of the ingredients and also a calorie guide which I think is useful. It tells you how many calories should be taken per day by men and women and how much fat. Also there is a guide for it being suitable for vegetarians, coeliacs and no artificial colouring all very useful.
The Walkers crisps come in a 25g bag but some bags feel much heavier than others so I am not entirely convinced about the weight. The crisps are very nice to taste and the potato is nice and the flavour is always realistic and a lot of it is there, unlike some crisps where you can barely taste the flavour stated on the packet. The prawn taste is very nice and the crisps are a slight orange colour because of the flavouring on them.
On the back of the packet there is an address to write to for complaints. If there is ever a prolem with your crisps it is good to write to this adress. I had a problem once with Quavers where I found a dead fly in them but had obviously been so shocked I threw away the packet. I then later thought about this and realised I could complain. I wrote away and within days I received a reply and a note that I would receive £5 worth of vouchers from Walkers. It wasn't until that moment I realised how many crisps Walkers made but for me who loves crisps this was a great apology.
The prawn cocktail crisps can be bought separately in most shops that do sell food for roughly 37p but also can be bought in bags of 6 prawn cocktail bags costing roughly 98p and in mixed bags of different flavours costing about £2.50 where I got a bag of 24 to keep the cupboard full for a while.
The smell of the prawn cocktail crisps is strong because if anyone is sitting within a metre of the bag they will always be able to identify that it is prawn. Obviously when tasting real prawn cocktail and the crisps they will taste artificial but it is pretty accurate for crisps and only Walkers do the best.
From my knowledge I have had the supermarket own brands version of Prawn Cocktail crisps but they just don't taste the same and the flavour is faint. Walkers just make these crisps so addictive and it is alays tempting to open another bag but I don't. These are my favourite flavour and I hope Walkers never stop making them.

- 01/10/04 Prawn cocktail is definitely my favourite out of Walkers traditional flavours. Although when it comes to 'posh crisps', Slow Roasted Lamb and Mint comes first everytime :o)

- 30/09/04 Great review, but I don't much like crisps of any sort and I loathe prawn cocktail (real or flavouring) so I certainly won't be buying these! Sue
