Advantages: Tasty, light snack, under 100 KCal
Disadvantages: Not enough in the packet
I declined them first off.
After all, I don't like anything but chips. OR, so I thought.
The person I was caring for asked me to buy the triple pack of Walkers Snacks Quavers in the weekly shop. So I did.
He fancies Salt and Vinegar and Prawn, just loves them; but he says he doesn't fancy the cheese ones, so he donated them to me.
They sat in the cupboard for a while and then one afternoon I was feeling a bit ''peckish'' and thought I'd have a try.
What a taste explosion. Crisp and crunchy, bursting flavours into your mouth and then they melt away: a bit like the communion ''bread'' - but these leave you wishing there were many more in the bag.
All three flavours in the pack are attractively presented, lure you in when you see them stacked high on the supermarket shelf. Good for Walkers as they have to compete with so many other ''nibbly'' type foods.
Quavers; ''the light potato snack' are suitable for vegetarians and the packet, as it should, clearly provides a typical nutritional value (energy, protein, fat, fibre and sodium) with another box providing the full ingredients.
The packet advises you should store in a cool, dry place and best when consumed immediately after opening.
I have no trouble with that. My weakness is that I finish the first pack and think I need just a few more.
The packets are just the right size to pop into the kids or your own lunch box, along with some fresh fruit.
I think I'll try using Walkers Quavers, crushed over some of my winter soup creations. Yummy I'm guessing!
I wonder now why it took so long for me to try Walker Quavers! It's fortuitous that the person I look after didn't like the cheese ones. I'm glad he didn't, because I do, for a snack, to add to the light meal choices each day: if he'd eaten them, I may never have had a try!
So, in this house there's now two keen Walkers Quavers fans - next I'll be trying their French Fries, Monster Munch and a Wotsits or two!
Summary: Tasty,a bursting, snack creation
