I'm a sucker when it comes to snacks, big kid at heart and I can never resist when I go into the shop. Being on a diet at the moment, I have cut out a lot of the rubbish that I eat, however I fancied a snack today, was a little fed up of the tuna that I have been scoffing and just wanted some form of crisps. Quavers being one of the healthier options, not by much, I opted for them, not just a small bag though, I went for the big eat as a treat.

Quavers have been around for years, and are made by Walkers. When I was younger I never really liked them much, I found them a bit boring, but as I have got older they have turned into one of the snacks that I prefer and to be honest, they are pretty moreish and I could keep eating them.

Big eat bags are 34g in size, so not that bigger than the original 25g packet. The bright yellow packaing stands out a mile in the shops, almost fluorescent. The logo has changed quite a bit to what it used to be, its curly writing now, which I don't think it has always been the same, it makes sense though as Walkers have rebranded their packaging on majority of their products over the years. The nutritional information is detailed on the front, advising that they are 180 calories per big eat bag, with 1.7g sugar, 10.2g far0.9g saturates and 0.9g salt. All Walkers products are now made using Sunseed oils which is a more healthier option. At the bottom of the bag is a picture of one of the snacks and details the flavour, which is cheese, i'm not sure whether they still make the other flvaours. If i remember right you used to be able to get them in prawn flavour.

On the reverse of the packaging is a brief description of the product. Walkers make a big deal these days about getting the message across of what oil is not being used to make their snacks. additional information includes the nutritional information in more depth, ingredients and information relating to sending the product back should you not be entirely satisfied with it.

When you open a bag of Quavers, there always seems to be loads in them because the snacks themselves are very light and you get good value for your money in that case. The cheesy smell instantly hits you which is quite pleasant and not too strong. As you delve in, there are loads of curly and bending snacks within the bag, all equally as tasty.

Quavers taste great, the flavour isn't too overpowering and is very nice, you can taste onion a tiny little bit on them but not on the same scale as a cheese and onion snack. As a light snack, you can choose how to eat these, as quick as you can by crunching on them as they are quite crunchy or they just melt in your mouth if you want to savour the flavour a little longer and make them last. I start that way but get fed up and end up crunching away, and then want another bag after.

Quavers are a great tasting snack that are not too bad if you are on a calorie controlled diet. Go on, treat yourself.
