Old people on the site will probably remember the days when this was how crisps came to you, you actually added your own salt rather than the cisps coming already salted like they do these days.

Salt and Shake by Walkers are an attempt to bring back that idea and in my opinion they just tend to prove that many times progress is a good thing and those that hark back to the good old days are looking at it through rose tinted spectacles.

With these crisps what you get is some bland tasting crisps and a little blue packet of salt similar in size to the ones you get in service stations, if as I did you get a packet with no blue packet in it then you either have to go back to the retailer or wait until you get home and use your own. So anyone after getting a replacement I opened my packet, there really was not any discernable aroma from the crisps at this stage, I tipped in my salt and as instructed gave them a good shake to distribute the salt.

The problem is the salt distribution is randon so some of the crisps were heavily coated and too salty by far while others had little on them and were just plain bland tasting and at the bottom of the packet there was quite a bit of salt as well.

Personally I felt it was forty pence wasted and I will not be buying them again.

Summary: Proving that some things were changed for a reason.

I like the fact that you don't have to add the salt...I never use the salt on these! Good review!
