---JUST SENSATIONAL--
---WALKERS OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN WITH LEMON AND THYME---
Walkers crisps are just great! They are probably my most favourite crisp brand from the wealth of choice on offer on the market today. What I like about them most, is their thickness and crunchy freshness and now with the 'Sensations' range, the delicious and amazing variations of flavours on offer, have taken Walkers crisps to a whole new level. Marketed as the 'Posh Crisp' Walkers have upped the ante with their new and exciting flavour combinations for the Sensations range.-
Using 100% great British potatoes and sunflower oil the flavour of the Walkers crisp is undeniably tasty. They have now introduced into their recipe, 'Sunseed' oil, which is one of the healthiest oils out there and Walkers now boast '60% less saturated fat than they used in 2006 and same great taste'. So I am guessing that they are a whole lot healthier these days than they used to be.
Crisps have come a long way since the humble 'salt in a bag' variety, though I did like the fact that you could add the salt yourselves, according to taste. I don't like food with salt added, it should really not be included into our food. It should be left up to the individual, to season the food themselves, according to their preference. Having said that, the Walkers Sensations crisps contain only 0.32g per 40g serving, which is the size of the normal handy pack of these crisps.-
---THE WALKERS SENSATIONS---
The 'Sensations' variety of crisps comes across as a bit of a 'luxury' crisp, in their packaging and also in their fantastic choice of flavours. A crisp for the connoisseur; the packaging on the variety of Sensations that I have has a real touch of class about it. I have the 'Roasted Chicken with Lemon and Thyme '. The crisp packet is basically a thick white plastic, with a high gloss sheen to it. Tastefully placed across the middle of the packaging on a black band, is the word 'Sensations' written in bold white lettering. With the wording beneath of 'Oven Roasted Chicken' and 'With Lemon and Thyme' written in orange and yellow writing, respectively, beside the Walkers logo.
Beneath and above this are featured photographed images of succulent pieces of sliced roasted chicken with crispy skin. There are also accompanying wedges of tart lemon and sprigs of thyme decoratively placed upon the chicken strips. It is definitely a classy looking packet which really sells the Sensations and advertises the product inside very well. It is a high quality packaging with rich colour pictures of what the flavour inside promises. All other nutritional information is to the reverse of the packet, as are the guideline daily amounts. ---THE UNIQUE AROMA---
I think Walkers have really cornered the market with the Sensations crisp. They are truly delicious. The aroma from the packet is absolutely spot on. The smell of roast chicken is strong and true. It smells exactly like roasted chicken straight from the oven and this is the predominant aroma that hits you at first. The thyme and lemon follow through as a delicate garnishing, giving the Sensation an all round full bodied smell, with the sunflower oil lingering in the background. The packaging to the crisp is foil lined and the crisps are captured in a perfectly fresh state and delivered to us in tip top condition.-
---THE AMAZING FLAVOUR---
As soon as I take a bite from the Sensation crisp I am immediately struck by how hard and crisp they are. They are thick and really crunchy and as I bite the crisp down the full roast chicken flavour fills my mouth with the thyme and lemon complimenting it beautifully. There is also a taste of flavoured salt which just gives the crisp a nice herby tang to them and the whole taste experience is totally delicious. They are absolutely bursting full of flavour and you can really taste the flavour of 'real' roast chicken. After eating a packet of these I feel totally satisfied and I have to say I am more than a bit addicted to this flavour of the Sensations at the moment.-
---INGREDIENTS---
Well the most important ingredient is of course the potato and Walkers use only the best variety. They have chosen Lady Rosetta and Saturna farmed potatoes for their Sensations crisps. These are thickly cut to give the crisp the satisfying depth of crunch that these crisps are known for. Other Ingredients are: Sunflower oil - Whey Powder - Butter Oil (from milk) - Chicken Powder - Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate)- Sugar - Thyme - Lemon - Salt - Firming agent (calcium chloride) - Oven Roasted Chicken With Lemon and Thyme Flavour .- Calories: 200 - Fat: 11.2g - Fibre: 1.8g- Protein 2.6g. == Suitable for Coeliacs ==
---SUMMARY---
Well I think Walkers Sensations crisps are absolutely gorgeous. They are bursting with fresh roast chicken flavour and delicate herb, which makes for a very satisfying taste experience. The Sensations are a really good quality crisp from a good potato. The crisps themselves are quite thick and large in size and the pack houses an adequate amount for a really filling snack. I also like the fact that they are non-greasy. I think for the quality of crisp and the delicious flavouring, that Walkers Sensations are worth every penny of their 60p and they also come in a larger 175g party size bag for around £1.75.
The Sensation range also includes the Varieties: Lamb and Mint - Four Cheese and Red Onion - Lime and Tai Spices - Vintage Cheddar & Red Onion - Lamb & Moroccan Spices - Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar - Thai Sweet Chilli - What a fantastic variety of satisfying flavours. - I think Walkers Sensations really are a cut above the competition and I rank them as 10/10.-
