I had an accident! I went to grab a bag of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps and there are so many varities of crisps in my house I opened them to find they wernt my all time favs they were bacon! The packets looks almost the same to me in a dim light! I haven't had bacon in ages! It was a bit of a shock when the taste hit my taste buds and a bit of a dissapointment too lol The Packet....(Multi bag 25g) Tin foil bag burgundy in colour. Cleary states the brand and that they are indeed Smoky Bacon Crisps made with sunseed oil and on the bottom of the packet tells me not for resale as they are out of a multi pack. On the back I'm told a little bit about ... Read the complete review

After trying the Steak and Onion and the Roast Chicken flavours in the past two days I decided it was time to return to a flavour that was one of my childhood favourites:- Smoky Bacon. I haven't actually had this in quite some time so it will be interesting to compare it to the other two meaty flavours I've tried from the multipack so far. Packaging. The front of the multipack bag is predominantly red and brown with the usual Walkers logo and various bands of colour telling you that it contains:- 4 x Roast Chicken 4 x Smoky Bacon 4 x Steak and Onion 4 x Salt and Vinegar 4 x Ready Salted 4 x Cheese and ... Walkers crisps are the original and one of the best in my opinion. The crisps are a good size and cut from good potatoes, it is very rare to find a bad crisp in your bag and this is great as I don't have to particularly worry about paying much attention when delving in to the bag and wolfing down a whole packet in 2 minutes flat! The crisps come in a foil bag (for freshness) with brown colouring (for smoky bacon) and the familiar Walkers logo as well as nutritional information, ingredients and further details on cooking methods, potatoes used and information on Walkers themselves. The bag is very informative and for the purposes of reviewing I had a good old ... Read the complete review

As I am currently eating these crisps I though that this would make a good review :) **Background Info** Well these smoky bacon crisps are made by Walkers. Walkers are one of the best known names for food products. You can always be reassured that the crisps are going to be good quality. The quantity of crisps in the packet are fair. They definately make a good snack. They once again changed their packaging style in June 2007, rather similar to the logo used from 1998-2006. My packet looks slightly different to the one above this review, it looks a little older (I only bought them yesterday) this could be due to them being part of a ... Read the complete review

Walkers crisps have changed over the years, that fact is inescapable. This is mostly due to increased pressure from a public demanding healthier snacks so that it can still eat lots of 'bad' food but not get as fat quite so quickly. Such changes have been detrimental to some flavours of crisps, but beneficial to others, bizarrely: Salt and Vinegar have suffered, whereas smoky bacon have, in my opinion, improved massively and are now my favourite Walkers variety. I can't pinpoint exactly what change has occured, but it has resulted in a somewhat more mellow bacon flavour, which I believe is a vast improvement over the overpowering taste of smoky bacon in the ...
