Advantages: Delicious taste, reasonably priced.
Disadvantages: None.
Walkers crisps are the original and one of the best in my opinion. The crisps are a good size and cut from good potatoes, it is very rare to find a bad crisp in your bag and this is great as I don't have to particularly worry about paying much attention when delving in to the bag and wolfing down a whole packet in 2 minutes flat!
The crisps come in a foil bag (for freshness) with brown colouring (for smoky bacon) and the familiar Walkers logo as well as nutritional information, ingredients and further details on cooking methods, potatoes used and information on Walkers themselves. The bag is very informative and for the purposes of reviewing I had a good old read of the changes that have been made in recent years (less fat and better oil etc) and was astounded by the sheer amount of information that they feel necessary to print.
Once the packet is opened I am met with a smell of meat instantly and it's lovely and strong. The crisps are deliciously crunchy and do not disappoint at all. The smoky bacon flavouring is quite strong and full of taste. It is one that I thoroughly enjoy (like most crisps!). It may not be for everybody though as it can be a little overpowering for little children, also, people may comment on your breath if you don't brush your teeth afterwards. My favourite way to eat Smoky Bacon Walkers is to have them with inside a ham sandwich. The crunch goes so well with sandwiches and is just delicious. The bacon flavour is a little artificial but it is still one that I enjoy and that I will continue to enjoy. The flavouring really covers my fingers and it's great to get all messy whilst really enjoying what I'm eating.
I would definitely recommend these as a perfect accompaniment to your lunchtime. These go great as a snack and each bag contains 181 calories and 11.4g of fat so these should be enjoyed in moderation. I am a huge fan and this is one of my favourite flavours, I am therefore rating it 5/5. These are available singly or as part of a multi-pack. The single bags are 40p and the 6 pack multi-pack is £1.24 in Tesco stores, however, the multipacks are frequently on offer with 4 packs for £4.00.
Summary: A delicious packet of crisps - yum!
