Advantages: Great for sandwiches
Disadvantages: High in salt.
I don't eat crisps very often because they make me really thirsty and for someone that drinks 10-15 pints of water a day, this can be a real pain. The other day I really fancied something while I was in my local Spar so picked up a bag of these.
Squares are made by the famous brand name Walkers. You can buy them in individual packs which are around 50p or you can pick up a 12 pack for around £1.50. They come in three flavours and these are cheese and onion, salt and vinegar and ready salted.
The crisps are of course squared in shape, or windows as Noah would say, and they have tiny little bubbles dotted around on each surface. They are extremely thin although not to the point of being able to see through them and they measure around two inches long.
I really like cheese and onion flavoured crisps so naturally I picked up the green and yellow coloured bag when I saw them on the shelf. When I opened them I was a little disappointed to see that the bag was half full which seems to be the case with most crisps these days. I could instantly smell the lovely oniony flavour and got stuck in right there and then.
The great thing about these crisps is the fact that they are so light and I wouldn't associate them with being overly filling. They have a really great taste to them and even the ready salted, the most boring one of all flavours, actually comes out on top.
They are fairly flat which makes them great for adding a crunch to any sandwich. I think the ready salted always best in a sandwich but if you are having something bland then you can add one of the other flavours to spice it up a bit.
As you would expect these crisps are quite high in salt and contain 105 calories per bag and 4.5g of fat. I suppose thats not the worst I've seen in a bag of crisps but it's certainly not the best and if you are trying to loose weight then I wouldn't eat too many which obviously goes without saying really.
Over all these are a crisp that have proven to have stood the test of time and I'm sure that they will continue appearing in lunch boxes and vendorsfor years to come. They are a firm favourite with me and despite the fact that the bag is half empty, I will buy them again.
Summary: A great crispy!
