Mmm, crunchy! (Walkers Squares)

Recently I was out at a gig with my friend and we were hungry so I bought a Big Eat bag of Walkers Squares in Salt &Vinegar flavour from behind the bar for 60p...

Squares are one of my favourite snacks as they are really brittle and seem hard to chew and I like that!

Cooked in Sunseed which is a healthier oil which is naturally lower in saturates and higher in mono-saturates and is now advertised as with 55% less salt, this snack is obviously being markets as a healthier product now...

With a best before of Dec this year they keep well in the blue foil lined packet too.

In my packet there are 172 calories and 1.4g of sugar, plus 7.2g of fat which is high considering they are being sold to the public as a healthier snack.

Salt there is 0.9g which is 15% of an adult's daily allowance and the fat content is 10%.

The squares are a really cool solid shape which of course is the biggest selling point, and they are made from potato granules and are suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs...

Fried in 18% sunflower oil I do think they are really greasy but tasty with it.

The vinegar tang is really nice and there is just enough salt without it being overpowering. The texture of Squares is really crunchy and one pack is definitely enough, lol!

These are said to have 33% less fat than Walkers standard crisps but you wouldn't know it form the taste.

Five stars from me for a good brand that are a bit thicker therefore more satisfying than ordinary crisp-type snacks and are fun to eat :)

Summary: tasty alternative to crisps ;-p
