Advantages: Moorish

Disadvantages: Unhealthy

Crisps don't last long in my presence - that's a fact.

Doritos were first produced in the US in 1966, and are now extremely popular throughout the world. Although I like all the varieties of Doritos including 'Cool Original' and 'Chili Heatwave', the 'Tangy Cheese' flavour is my favourite. Once I eat one, it's hard for me to stop.

The flavour is delicious, and the crunchy corn crisps are coated in a orangey cheese layer which is quite appetizing.

The 245g bag of Walkers Tangy Cheese Doritos currently costs £1 from Tesco - but bizarrely, it's also part of their '3 for £3.50' offer... you do the maths...!

In terms of the ingredients, the product contains:
Corn (Whole Maize Kernels), Sunflower Oil (27%), Tangy Cheese Flavour (Cheese (2.5%), Buttermilk, Whey Solids (From Milk), Wheat Flour, Flavouring, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium 5'-ribofnucleotide), Sucrose, Dextrose, Citric Acid, Colours (Ammonia Caramel, Turmeric Extract, Sunset Yellow), and Salt.

There's a few somewhat dodgy ingredients in the above list - Monosodium Glutamate is especially notorious - and certainly isn't that good for you. Eating an entire packet of Doritos will add over a thousand calories to your daily intake - so be careful if you're watching your weight!

In conclusion, I find Walkers Tangy Cheese Doritos to be a particularly Moorish snack. I only eat them occasionally, due to their unhealthy nature - but I certainly enjoy them. For the current price, the crisps are exceptionally good value, and are an especially good accompaniment to Mexican food.

Fact of the day: 'Dorito' is Spanish for 'little golden one'.

Summary: Tasty Crisps
