Walkers Ready Salted Crisps ... parents always have these in a cupboard. Whenever I pop round I always check to see that they haven t pushed the boat out and bought a different flavour! Alas no, it is always a multipack of the plain old ready salted. Nothing wrong with that really, but then...aren t they just a little unadventurous. Walkers is a trusted brand, even Gary Lineker lends his name and face to them and he s a trusted man. You can buy these individually or in a multipack. A single bag will cost about forty pence, prices vary depending on which store you buy it from though. A ready salted crisp is a potato crisp with nowt added to it except for a dashing of salt. Walkers French Fries ... French Fries are yet another potato based snack from the UKs biggest crisp manufacturer. I don t buy these very often, as i m not a huge fan. Available in the standard walkers flavours (Salt and Vinegar, Cheese and Onion, Ready salted) these are sticks of air filled potato, which are marketed as a healthy alternative to normal crisps. Each crisp is rather unsuprisingly shaped like a french fry. That s where the similarity ends. They are very crispy, and when chewing them they are rather crunch. Walkers French Fries ... French Fries were the latest elevenses snack purchase from the office vending machine. They cost 45p for a bag that was about half the weight of most of the others. The advantage was that it had half the calories, because these are mostly made of puffed air. The bag doesn t have a weight listed on it, but by doing maths on the nutrition tables, it would appear to be 22g, which is rather less than most bags of a similar size. This review is about the salt and vinegar flavour, but I have also had the Worcester sauce flavour in the past, which are much the same texture, but with a different set of highly artificial chemicals to flavour it.
