I had a conversation with a friend shortly after Christmas who said they had as a stocking filler a 6 pack of walnut whips. To be honest I don't eat chocolate.....I am one female that isn't a chocoholic, but walnut whips took me back again to my childhood and I thought when I see these again, I'm going to have one, just to see if they were what i remembered and that day come today as I was in the local corner shop, I saw a load of individually wrapped walnut whips so I decided to purchase one, just one mind, thats normally enough chocolate for me. The packaging has changed slightly from what I can remember, I think originally they were in a dark blue wrapper, ... Read the complete review

I haven't had a Walnut Whip for years; I saw a 3 pack in Poundland today so I thought I'd give them a try again. A walnut whip is a chocolate whirl with a vanilla fondant centre, topped with a walnut. Nutritional Information Each whip contains Calories 174 Sugar 20.4g Fat 8.9g Saturates 4.9g Salt 0,1g Now I know I've got bigger over the years, and I was only a teen the last time I had one, but I'm sure they're only half the size they used to be, so for the size of them there's an awful lot calories in each one. The chocolate outer casing is lovely an thick, and whereas Cadbury is always ... Read the complete review

I have never been a healthy eater and eat far too much sweet stuff! However I bought this walnut whip (well a pack of three) because when I saw them on offer I couldn't resist as I simply have not had one in ages! What is it? A walnut whip is a chocolate treat made by Nestle. I say treat because it isn't a bar of chocolate nor is it an egg. It is shaped almost like a miniature bee hive if that makes sense and if filled with a soft vanilla flavoured fondant. The whip in the title refers to the filling as it really is that consistency that it looks like it has been 'whipped'. The nut in the title refers to a small walnut sat on the top of the ... You could have knocked me down with a feather when I read that the `Walnut Whip` was launched in 1910! Apparently it is Nestle Rowntree`s oldest current brand. Walnut Whips are manufactured in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Before 1910 the tantalizing chocolate and nut swirl was made in Dundee by Duncan's of Edinburgh. Over a million imported walnuts are used in the Halifax factory every week and one Walnut Whip is eaten every 2 seconds in the UK. The original chocolate used to have a walnut inside of the shell as well as one on the top. I love them, in fact I will go one step further and say I adore them! Each Walnut Whip has 170 calories and ... Read the complete review

Walnut Whips are most definitely an art form. These cone shaped chocolate treats are filled with creamy, white fondant cream. Hidden in the bottom there used to be a piece of walnut which gives the product its name but this has disappeared. Over the years other manufacturers have attempted to copy this confectionery and bring out their own versions, but none of them are quite the same as the Nestle ones. For example, Walkers (not the crisp manufacturer) have a cheap version on these but the chocolate is soft and a bit sticky and the fondant in sticky too. Marks & Spencer sell a version of these which is suspiciously like the original although not ... Read the complete review
