I?d seen Warburton?s milk roll before in my local Sainsbury?s but due to the smallish size and the largish price, I had always declined my temptation to make the purchase. However, on a recent trip to my local Sainsbury?s I spied a loaf that had been reduced from its usual 62p by a WHOPPING 20p leaving me to pay 42p! Now okay that might not count as bargain of the week, but at least it gave me a chance to try the product at a lesser price. Looking at the packet you?d be forgiven for thinking this product is anything but a loaf of bread. The unusual round shape of the loaf is far ... Read the complete review

When I lived at home and had to make a shopping list for the coming week, brand names didn’t usually appear. I’d write “Cornflakes” and it went without saying that I meant Kellogg’s. Peanut butter meant Sunpat, and Coke meant proper Coca Cola, not that horrible rip off cheap stuff. With bread, the only thing I needed to specify was the shape – round or square. What we called “round bread” was this one, Warburtons Blackpool Milk Roll which I think has now dropped the “Blackpool” in its name. In our house I am the only one who eats white bread, so it makes sense to buy a small loaf. I can't stand it when you buy a standard size loaf and have to throw half of it away because it is past its best. It's just so wasteful. Unfortunately, though, not all shops sell the smaller white loaves, so all too often I have to buy a larger loaf of bread whether I like it or not. However, one place where I have been able to get smaller loaves of bread is Sainsbury's. They sell one of my favourite breads, Warburtons Milk Roll, and it is this that I shall be reviewing today. When you see this on the shelf, something about it immediately catches your eye. It's not so ... Read the complete review

Being an oldish lady I do find it quite tiring to prepare huge sunday roast dinners and main meals nowadays. When cooking for myself I tend to stick to the simpler things, namely hot buttered crumpets, sandwiches or toast. When it comes to the choice of bread i use for my toast or sandwiches there's only one choice for me. Warburtons white Milk roll bread. There's just something about the taste which seems so superior to most other brands. The bread slices are small, round shaped and quite thin but ample for a pensioner like myself and they don't stick together in on large mass when you try to freeze them for storage. You can just ...
