Advantages: Delicious bread for sandwiches or toast, long lasting, great when on special offer, tastes nice!

Disadvantages: None

Warburtons Farmhouse bread is white bread that has been baked in a traditional looking tin and then sliced thickly. It contains wheat flour, wheat gluten, soya & soya flour amongst other ingredients so be advised if you have an intolerance to any of these ingredients.

I am always trying different loafs of bread depending on what is on offer and this loaf is currently available in Sainsbury's for £1.00 (until 21/06/2009) which is around 25p cheaper than the usual price in the big supermarkets.

The bread comes packaged in a clear polythene bag with a neck seal towards the end of the bag which shows you the best before date of the bread as well as helping to keep the bag sealed and the bread fresh. It has the familiar Warburtons logo on it along the top and a farmhouse logo as well as showing the ingredients & nutritional information of the bread.

I believe that the bread is available in a couple of different sizes but I would recommend the thick bread as although it might be a struggle to get in the toaster it really does make the loveliest sandwiches.

The bread is very soft and has a normal amount of crust to the sides & bottom without producing too much waste if your child does not like crusts, and it has a slightly thicker top crust that has been sprinkled with white flour once cooked. Each slice contains 101 calories and 1.1g of fat so providing you don't eat it all day long there is no problem with eating this (watch out for the 0.5g salt per slice though).

This bread is very soft and stays that way for a good couple of days which makes it ideal for sandwiches or alternatively I just stick a loaf in the freezer and remove a few pieces for toast whenever required. I think the price is pretty standard for similar loaves of bread and it's very tasty bread. It's chewy without being too much and there is not a hint of staleness or soggyness to this bread at all. I will definitely be purchasing it again in the future (probably if it's on offer again!) and I am rating it 5/5.

Summary: A fantastic loaf of bread for all your bread related food requirements.
