This is totally my favourite bread in the whole world. I am even allowed it while on my diet, and I have a nice sandwich made with this soft white bread every lunchtime.
The price of this bread has shot up over the last few years. I can remember this costing approx 94p about 3 years ago, and it can cost up to £1.59 depending on what shop you go to. i think my local Asda and Tesco charge about £1,34 for a 800g loaf.
You can buy this in 400g loafs, but the slices are tiny, and it isn't just half the pack size of the larger pack. It is just like the slices are miniature versions of the larger one.
This bread is wrapped in a blue and white wrapper. Although not exactly a paper wrapper, it is just like paper and it rips easily. I normally just open this at the end, and to keep freshness in, I just fold the wrapper over, and place the open part on the bottom of the bread bin.
The date on this is normally alright. When buying a fresh loaf, you will get up to 4 days on the label, and there is a display date, and then best before date, which is always 2 days after the display date. This way you can sometimes get a bargain at the shop with loafs getting reduced down to sell by the display date, but I think this must be a popular bread, as normally not many of these left in shops near the later part of the night.
This Bread is medium sliced and jus tthe right thickness. It is very soft, and stays soft until the best before date and then it gets a little spongier. I think this is the softest bread i've had, and perhaps that is why I like it so much. I know some people don't seem to like it much, and 1 of my friends says it tastes quite chemically, and salty, but i've never noticed this.
Per slice there is 94 calories and 0.4g fat, so alright to have this as a cold meat salad sandwich. You get 14 slices in a pack, and the 2 heels.
I think Warburton bread is the nicest bread, and this is definitely the first loaf I reach for in the shop. Just wished it was that little bit cheaper though!
