Advantages: Taste and softness
Disadvantages: None
There is only one type of packaged bread allowed in my bread bin and that is Warburton`s.
I`m not at all snobbish about this, if cheaper breads were as good I would have no qualms in buying it.
The truth is Warburton`s is THE best sliced bread I have ever tasted.
Taste
Why does this bread taste better? Truth is I can`t really explain it, it is always soft but not too light. You get a nice mouthful of doughy bread every time you bite into it. Probably some ingredient that is totally bad for you is the one that gives it the distinctive taste but I don`t care. I like to eat healthy whenever I can but I will not compromise on bread.
Texture
It is soft but firm if that makes sense. I can spread Lurpak light spreadable on it quite easily, however Lurpak "full fat" tends to rip it. I think its about the softness of the spread and the pressure you apply though.
Warburton`s is one of the priciest white loaves out there to be honest at between £1.00 and £1.50 depending on the store. That said I would pay £2 for it if I had to because I won`t tolerate any other bread!!
I can`t recommend this bread to everybody because if you all buy it it will leave less for me. So don`t buy Warburton`s white bread its awful (as if)!!
Summary: Move over Kingsmill the real King is Warburton`s

- 19/11/09 I have to say I prefer Kingsmill, but only because the hubby works there and I get it half price and fresh off the belt. |
