Alpen Groove Bar It's hard to find cheap treats that are good for you. Why do chocolate bars and naughty things always seem that much cheaper! On my last visit to our local 99p store I spotted a huge range of Alpen cereal bars. I never quite knew that they offered such a huge range until I saw them all together. I always buy McVities Go Ahead Biscuits but fancied a change so I setted on Alpen's Nutty Chocolate Groove Bar. ~ Packaging ~ The bars come boxed with 6 in a pack and feature a handy flap across the front of the packaging so the box can be resealed easily. After I tried the raspberry groove bar, I was keen to try the chocolate option. I've yet to have a bad word for Alpen, and I hoped it would remain that way! Alpen Groove bars come in a pack of six. When you remove the cereal bar from the packet its got such a strong chocolate aroma to it. Down the middle of the chocolatey cereal is a strip of chocolate. It looked delicious! Biting into the bar, I noticed it was quite tough, the cereal was quite chewy too as expected. As for the chocolate strip - that was something else! I first bought these cereal bars from Alpen a few weeks ago, and I have found them to be really tasty. They are made by the Weetabix company, and the main ingredients are rice, oats, wheat, sugar, hazelnut and almond filling and and a chocolate topping. I have only tried the chocolate variety so far, but my husband and I liked them so much that I ordered two more boxes online from Tesco. As well as chocolate, the bars are also available in lemon and strawberry flavours, but I haven't tried these yet. The bars come in a box of six, and cost around £1.70.
