I went to Asda in search of some low-calorie cereal bars. I didn't really have any taste in mind, so it was going to make my search that little bit easier. As I browsed though, the majority of them had well over 100 calories, and although this may not seem like that much, the sugar content was really high! Then I noticed a range I had not come across before - Alpen Light. I'd heard of the normal variety, but not these ones! On the shelves, there was a choice of three flavours; Summer Fruits Apple And Sultana Chocolate And Orange After a little researching, I found out that these also come in a Citrus Fruits variety! Ive been trying to eat less chocolate recently. With all this time im devoting to clicking and reviews im sitting down a LOT and always find myself snacking. On chocolate mostly. So I decided to get some healthier options to eat. There are loads of snack bars on offer but I decided to go with this one as it said it was only 70 calories and because it was alpen who make nice museli. I thought summer fruits would be a nice flavour just to remind me of the summer we never had. The box was 1.87 in tesco. As you may know I am currently trying to find decent cereal bars that I can take to work to keep me going through my shifts merchandising. When I was looking for the Quaker Oat Bars - which incidentally are delicious - I noticed the Alpen Light Bars and decided to try those as well and I am so glad that I did. The ones that I bought were the Alpen Light Summer Fruits Bars which cost £1.50 for a box containing six bars. They were also available in orange and chocolate and apple and sultana flavours. The chocolate one doesn't sound my sort of thing but I may well try the apple one. The box to look out for is pale blue with the word Alpen ...
