Whilst the children are at school I like to send them off to school with a breakfast of cereal. I tend to choose Bran Flakes, Weetabix or Shredded Wheat as I feel the are probably the healthiest of the ones that they will eat and will keep them fullup for the longest time. However during the holidays I let them have a bit more freedom and let them choose what they prefer to have. This genoerosity of spirit on my part led me to the purchase of a box of weetabix Weetos. I think the chocolate brown box with big circles of chocolate cereal on the front was what caught my 12yr old sons eye. He likes cocopops but usually an hour after he has finished the ... Weetos are a source of breakfast cereal made by Weetabix which offers the opportunity to get some key vitamins and iron into children who may be that bit fussy as these are chocolate flavoured hoops - and lets face it, what child doesn't like chocolate!! Available in a 500g box for around £2.75 it is certainly not the cheapest cereal around, nor the healthiest due to its chocolate content but as a parent of what can be a fussy child a cereal like this can be a godsend. The cardboard exterior packaging is fully recyclable and the contents inside are completely sealed inside an air-tight bag for freshness. The weetos are basically brown crunchy rings ... I am very boring when it comes to cereal and tend to stick to fruit and fibre, so up until my two boys coming along that's all we had in our house. Fast forward 5 years and there are are several different varities occupying our kitchen cupboard shelves. This one however seems to be a firm favourite with my two little men. Weetos..what are they?~ They are small little chocolate flavoured crunchy hoops, fortified with vitamins and iron according to the box. I don't mind buying these for the boys because a box seems to last ages and sometimes they like to eat them dry as a snack instead of wanting biscuits and chocolate which I don't ... I recently purchased a 375g box of Weetabix Weetos Chocolate Flavour from Asda for the £2.08 and it was purely nostalgia that drew me towards the box. The design has now been modified and the crazy scientist seems to have been removed (he was definitely there in my younger days!) but apart from that I can't notice any difference with regards to the actual cereal. The box is made from cardboard, brown in colour and shows you Weetos flying around. It has the Weetabix logo and the Weetos name plastered over it so that it's pretty easy to spot when out shopping. The cereal is packaged in a plastic bag which can be folded/crunched down to help keep the cereal fresh ... Read the complete review

I enjoy my cereal and usually like to start the day with a bowl of it. But I've always preferred chocolate cereals and these Weetos have been one of my favourites for many years. Cost wise this cereal isn't too bad. In Tesco it is normally £2.75. It is on offer in Tesco at the moment and is £1.75 until the 9th June. So if you want to try some maybe get it now. The packaging is quite simple but appealing. 'Weetos' is written in an eye catching gold colour with delicious looking chocolate hoops bursting from it. I used to like it when they had the mad white haired scientist on the front but they have gone for a more simple look on the box, maybe ... Read the complete review
