I am on a diet at the moment, but am just calorie counting not following a particular plan. However last night in Tesco's I saw Weight Watcher's Apple Crumble Slices reduced from their usual £1.24 down to 31p on the grabbit quick shelf, so I did! Each cake contains 1 ½ weight watchers points, or 90 calories and 2g of fat for those not on the plan. This is fairly good going for a sweet snack however you look at it. However they're not huge as each one measures about 6cm by 2.5cm by 2.5cm. You get six in a packet, working out at just over 20p per slice. While I don't think this is bad value, its not a bargain either. The cakes are also suitable for vegetarians. ... Read the complete review

Weight Watchers , Apple Crumble slices. Went to Asdas to get a few bits and noticed these apple crumble slices on sale at reduced price so thought i would try them. The Package********** Suitable for Vegetarians. Comes in a carboard box, green and white, guess because of the apples they contain inside. The box has a picture on the front of six of these apple crumble slices, and being very consceince of my weight gonna give them a try. Apparently they are New as stated on the box. Also you can see a couple of slices of apple on the box too. Inside the box there is a ... Read the complete review

I love a scone or piece of cake in an afternoon with my cappucino. However I need to get my cholesterol down so I thought I would give these cakes a try. At only 90 calories, 2g fat, and 0.4g saturated fat I thought they wouldn't do any harm. I'm not on the WeightWatchers diet, but if you are, they are 1 1/2 points per slice. The blurb on the front of the box states: 'Light apple sponge slices, layered with Bramley apple jam on a delicate pastry base and lightly topped with an oaty crumble.' I've got them in front of me now for the purposes of analysis. When I take one out the strong smell of cinammon wafts out, and a faint smell of apple. The ... Read the complete review

In my search for diet friendly snacks I stumbled upon a pack of six Weight Watchers Apple Crumble Slices in Tesco for just £1. I have tried other Weight Watchers cakes and liked or disliked them in equal measure, their carrot cake slices are delicious but their chocolate cake bars are awful. I really miss apple crumble though so thought I'd give these a try in the hope they would be a half decent alternative. And they certainly are! The cake is rather smaller than I thought or hoped it would be, but with only 1 1/2 Weight Watchers points per cake I don't mind it being this size as I can sometimes find enough points in my allowance to have two ... We buy these cakes quite a lot because they're always in the pound shop and they are very nice cakes that don't have as many calories as most other apple cakes. They are made by Weight Watchers but have got a good flavour not like most of their cakes that haven't got much taste. The sponge is quite stodgy I think and fools you that you are not eating a diet cake and the apple puree they use in them makes them nice and sweet without tasting too much like sugar. I like the texture of the cakes because they are sponge with a thin layer of apple puree and the 2 flavours go good together. There is a thin pastry base and that makes them seem more ...
