Weight Watchers , Apple Crumble slices.
Went to Asdas to get a few bits and noticed these apple crumble slices on sale at reduced price so thought i would try them.
The Package**********
Suitable for Vegetarians. Comes in a carboard box, green and white, guess because of the apples they contain inside. The box has a picture on the front of six of these apple crumble slices, and being very consceince of my weight gonna give them a try. Apparently they are New as stated on the box. Also you can see a couple of slices of apple on the box too.
Inside the box there is a plastic sealed clear plastic packet with inside that aplastic tray with six sections each containing one of the slices.
Weight watchers state that this box contains 1 and a half points per slice, dont follow weight watchers so dont know their point scoring system. Easy to open box.
Contents **********
Contains six slices of apple crumble cake, once openned you can smell a slight apple fragrance and a hint of cinnemon, they are light apple sponge slices, with Bramley apple jam on a delicate pastry base. Each slice is lightly topped with an oaty crumble.
The Taste**********
Quite nice, very light but needed three to fill myself up, with a cuppa. You can taste the crumble and this is quite nice, and the apple is light but would have liked a bit more of the apple filling for my liking.
They recommend that once you have openned the packet you should leave any uneaten cakes in an air tight container.
Contain Apple Jam, Glucose Syrup, Wheat flour, Apple concentrate, to name a few.
I think that these cakes would be nicer with a bit of cream on, or hot custard ( I know defeats the object of a light slimming cake, but thats just my opinion, im afraid.
But a nice light cake to have as a snack, with a nice pot of tea, and i did like them usual price £1.33p but i got mine for just 20p in the eat today section of Asdas so cant grumble.
Would i go out of my way to buy these again if they were not cheap No.
Thanks for reading and rating my reviews xx
Summary: I only brought them as they were on special offer they are ok though.

- 19/06/09 Thats the trouble with cakes like this - you have to eat the whole packet to feel as though you've eaten anything!! Not good when you're on a diet.:o) |
