Advantages: delicious, cheap, widely available, healthier than usual desserts

Disadvantages: /

Weight watchers are a diet company who supply products suitable for the WeightWatchers diet. One of their products are the banoffee desserts.

They can be found in all supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Waitrose etc as well as being able to be ordered from Weight Watchers themselves either online or over the phone. Often they can be found in little newsagents and petrol stations however not very often. They are part of a large range of WW cakes and pastries.

They come in a box of 2 and each cake weighs roughly 81g. For a diet product, especially a dessert I think that this is quite a good weight and doesn't seem like its skimping too much. The box of 2 costs £1.28 which works out at around 64p per dessert. This is quite expensive but not too bad considering something like a McFlurry from McDonald's will cost you around £1 or now a days maybe even more.

The puddings come in a box which is made of cardboard. Considering the amount inside the box, it is quite a big. I felt that this was a waste of packaging. On the back is all the usual nutrition information and ingredients and on the front is the brand name and a product description. My favourite part of the front of the box though is the delicious looking pictures. There is an imagine of the delicious dessert. They do look scrumptious and make it even more tempting. They look quite naughty though and I was a bit doubtful as to whether a diet product could look this amazing.

The box is easy to open and inside each dessert is in its own little pot. There is a plastic lid on the top of them too. There is no smell at all to these but this is because the lid is on! This was a bit annoying as I like to be tempted and lured in to eating by a wonderful smell. Oh well. As these are frozen and kept in the freezer they have to be defrosted before eating them. I left mine out for around 12 minutes. You are meant to leave them to defrost for around ten but I forgot about mine so caught it just in time. Not to worry though it was still perfectly in tact. Removing the lid Is a bit of the struggle but I eventually managed.

The dessert was quite positively delicious. The first thing I sampled were the toffee curls on the top. They were really nice and had quite a crunchy texture. They only had a very faint caramel taste to them but it was just enough! The next thing I tried was the toffee mousse. It was really light but actually had a nice density to it too. It tasted really like caramel which was amazing and there was a hint of fudge in their too! The next thing I got a taste of was the banana mousse. This was delicious and had a really strong banana taste to it. It was again smooth and I feel it was a bit lighter and less thick and dense than the toffee part. The toffee sauce swirled through was lovely. There wasn't a large amount of it though but what there was, was gorgeous. The last part I tried was the sponge. There also seemed to be more of the toffee sauce down here but still not an awful lot. The sponge tasted quite like sticky toffee pudding but definitely not as strong or delicious. It was really chewy but not though at all. All together the flavours mixed wonderfully but I think the most predominant thing was the banana mousse!

They were scrumptious so I was worried about the nutrition. I wasn't too shocked though and they were fairly healthy. In fact one dessert contained 152 calories and for what it is, a tiny 3g of fat. It could have been slightly lower in calories but for the content and amazing taste, it was amazing.
