Obviously not suitable for vegetarians. The box proudly states the meal has no artificial colours, or hydrogenated fats. This can only be a good thing, although it does have artificial flavourings in this one, which most of them have avoided. ~Packaging~ The meal comes in a purple Weight Watchers cardboard box, and has the obv...more

Premium Review Weight Watchers Beef Hotpot: This pots not that hot! (439 words)

I have been following Weightwatchers on and off for three or four years and regularly buy the Weightwatchers branded foods and products. I think the main reason i do this is laziness - i want something that is going to show the exact points value on the packet so theres no complicated adding up or anything. Its also very convenient as it can just be popped in the oven and served up three quarters of an hour later. I think Weightwatchers meals are generally very expensive. They normally cost around £1.50 per meal but i bought this particular meal last week in Tescos for £1. It was on offer but i still dont think this is very ...  Read the complete review

I got one of these in Cooltrader the other day because I like some of the Weightwatchers meals and hadn't tried this Beef Hot Pot before. It's a bit different from the photo Dooyoo have got up because you get cubes of potato now and not the slices like on a proper hot pot. The beef is mince and its very lean with no fatty bits in the meal and there are a few peas in there as well and loads of carrots. There's not a lot of mince even though there looks like there's loads because the gravy is thick and the mince spreads out in the gravy. The gravy is quite nice but its got a funny aftertaste and is a bit sticky. It goes good with the mince but its ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Weight Watchers Beef Hotpot: Tasty Meal is Too Little to Satisfy Healthy Appetite (751 words)

I've already reviewed a few Weight Watchers desserts so I thought I'd try one or two of their meals & see what they are like. This is the first one I'm going to taste. Packaging: The box is predominantly purple, as you'd expect a Weightwatchers product to be. There's a picture of the hotpot on the front, along with the name & a couple of highlights that tell you the meal contains 209 calories & less than 3% fat. The back of the box contains the usual information: ingredients, nutritional information, some stuff about Weight Watchers etc whilst the cooking instructions can be found on the side.:- Oven Cook: 40 - 45 minutes at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review One of the better low-fat ready meals (564 words)

I've tried quite a few of the Weight Watchers ready meals and found most of them to be quite good, although saying that, there are one or two exceptions. Having decided I need to lose a bit of weight, I popped a couple of these into my basket on a recent shopping trip, as I usually end up having ready meals when I work night shift, because it's too much hassle to cook after an 11 hour shift! This is a frozen meal and comes in a purple box with a picture of the finished meal on the front. Inside the box, the meal is in a black plastic tray with a peel-off film lid. Cooking is very simple, you just peel of the film lid and place in the microwave for ...  Read the complete review

I've been doing a lot of working late recently which means by the time I get home, I often don't have the energy to cook for myself. Despite the incredibly cheap and tasty food at the chippy next door, I am trying to save some pennies and lose a few pounds so my freezer is currently filled with a mixture of homemade delights and Heinz Weight Watchers ready meals. Tonight, I will be sampling the delights of a Weight Watchers beef hotpot. I've not sampled this particular offering from Heinz before so I thought I'd share it with you all. I get lonely eating on my own all the time anyway so come and join me! The box states that I will soon be ...  Read the complete review
