When I was younger, quite often I would visit the bakers after a hard and tiring day at school to boost my energy levels with a creamy, delectable slice of carrot cake. I had not had a slice of such fine confectionary in about six years, until today, when I sampled Tesco's Carrot and Orange Cake slices. I was a bit peckish and fancied a little snack a short while after my unsatisfying peanut-butter sandwich for lunch. The peanut-butter had given me a craving for something sweet, but I had no idea what treats were lurking in the cupboard. It's not easy trying to lose weight and there are many times when you can be very tempted by something sweet and indulgent. One of my passions in the past has been a generous portion of carrot cake so when I saw that Weight Watchers produce these low fat carrot cake slices, along with a range of other cake slices, I thought it would be worth giving them a try! I've never been one to fully embrace the weight watchers diet regime but obviously if you do follow a weight watchers diet these can be part of that and on the packet you are told that each slice is worth only one point which seems pretty good to me. I do bake very occasionally but believe there’s no shame in buying shop-bought cake (providing you take all the wrapping off and bash them about a bit before offering them as home-made to guests).
