Advantages: Healthier option, good value.

Disadvantages: Lacks complete taste of more fattening curries

Because of my sweet tooth (see many of my other reviews) I have to try and eat slightly healthier on other occasions. It's not always possible to make a proper meal with meat and vegetables from scratch in this busy world we live in, so I, like a lot of people, have to turn to ready meals from time to time.

Weight Watchers make a number of different ready meals, and one of my particular favourites is their Chicken Curry.

If you're familiar with the Weight Watchers points system, this meal will cost you 4 1/2 points, which to non-point savvy people is a pretty low fat point rating.

The curry takes about 11 minutes to 'cook'. 6 1/2 on full power, and 4 1/2 on defrost (30%) setting. I've had my fair share of microwaved meals, and this is one of the better ones definitely. The chicken is soft, as is the rice, which surprised me as often micrwaved rice will be hard and dried out. I don't know if the different heating settings of part full power, part defrost setting on the microwave helps create the soft rice?

The curry tastes good too. It's fairly mild, but does have a decent amount of taste to it.

Often these meals are on offer for £1 a go, or 2 for £2 in either Tesco or Asda.

Thanks for reading!

Summary: Excellent quick curry option ready meal

I always find these microwave meals to be so bland! Sam
