Advantages: Better than expected
Disadvantages: Unusual chocolate taste - I suppose I could get used to it though
Never before have I sampled any 'Weight Watchers' branded food, and this latest review is the result of me finding a couple of the diet-friendly chocolate bars which were left behind from my aunt's recent visit.
"Delicious crunchy double chocolate biscuits, wrapped in real Belgian milk chocolate".
Price & Availability

You can currently purchase the five bar multipack of the Weight Watchers Chocolate biscuits for £1.40 from Tesco.
Although specifically devised for those on the Weight Watchers plan, it must be noted that a chocolate biscuit is still a chocolate biscuit no matter who makes it - and as such, this particular one contains 87 calories per bar - which, although less than a regular chocolate bar of a similar size, is still no substitute for a healthier snack.
Flavour
- - - - -
The bars themselves are small, and around the size of a 'Penguin' (that's the Mcvities variety, not the flightless bird). The chocolate on the outside has a rippled effect, and biting into them reveals a biscuity interior. The chocolate itself is pleasant - but it doesn't really taste like the creamy and rich chocolate that I am used to - the flavour is of a kind of sanitized and somehow unusual chocolate, which, although pleasant, is slightly unnerving.
The biscuit part is a little dry - but actually, when combined with the chocolate, the bar as a whole is surprisingly tasty.
Ingredients
- - - - - - - -
The product contains;
Milk Chocolate (33%) (Sugar, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin; Natural Vanilla Flavouring), Oat Flakes, Wholemeal Flour, Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oil, Sugar, Invert Sugar Syrup, Bulking Agent: Polydextrose; Emulsifier: Pectin; Fat-Reduced Cocoa Powder, Salt, Raising Agents: Ammonium Bicarbonate, and Sodium Bicarbonate.
Final Word

Although I was ready to dislike them before I had even tried them, Weight Watchers Chocolate Biscuits are by no means bad, and represent a lower calorie alternative to the fat-packed bars made by the mainstream brands. The taste is different - but not unpleasant, and I would certainly eat them again.
