My sweet tooth is my downfall, simple as, and has sent me scurrying back to the sanctity of the Weight Watcher's meetings three times now... Sweeties, buns, cakes, and that most dreaded of temptations - milk chocolate all conspire against me with my on-going Battle of the Bulge! Worse for me is the fact I have Osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine and prolapsed discs so cannot exercise to help with a weight loss regime, thus it's just me and a calorie controlled diet battling it out. Therefore any new sweet treat that hits the market place - well needless to say I'm up for a tester to see if it helps my glucose cravings, and in these '6 Mini ... Read the complete review

So, weight watchers have attempted a makeover on the British classic, the Victoria sponge. How could that possibly work?! Well, here's how: Size These are miniature cakes, in the same vein as the current Mr Kipling trend. They are about 1.5 inches across and less than an inch deep. I think it's quite a satisfying size for a little cake, and don't notice the difference from full-fat mini cakes. Taste Most of the right ingredients are here: there's a sweet sticky strawberry jam and a light sponge with obligatory icing sugar dusting on top. However, it's obviously not fresh cream in the middle. One, for the fat content, and two that it would ... Read the complete review

Weight watchers are a diet company who supply products suitable for the WeightWatchers diet. One of their products are the mini Victoria sponges. They can be found in all supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Waitrose etc as well as being able to be ordered from Weight Watchers themselves either online or over the phone. Often they can be found in little newsagents and petrol stations however not very often. They are part of a large range of WW cakes and pastries. They come in a box of 6 and each cake weighs roughly 26g. This is quite light for a cake however they are described as mini so they weren't really going to be any bigger anyway. The box of 6 ... In an attempt to get back to my diet I went to Tesco yesterday and spent a fortune on low fat foods, including quite a few products from the Weight Watchers range. I have a rather sweet tooth which is harder to control in the summer months due to the general blandness of the salads, bbq food and chicken I tend to eat when the weather is warm and for this reason I decided to buy a couple of boxes of Weight Watchers cakes to keep the damage to a minimum when I inevitably reach for the sweet goodies in my cupboard. These Mini Victoria Sponges are honestly one of the best in their excellent range. I have bought them before but never really taken much notice of ... Read the complete review

There are a lot of Weight Watchers products floating around at home so I tend to try some of them, not expecting much as they are classed as diet food but some are really tasty and yummy and these '6 mini Victoria Sponges' come under that category... Costing about £1.60 for the multi pack I would say that is expensive for buns but of course dieters get them pointed out on the box so that helps them keep track of their allowance. There was only a use by date of one week on the box I am reviewing but they need to be used up quickly once opened as they do stale quickly... Having a points allowance of 1 ½ per bun it says so on front of the ... Read the complete review
