Sweet and sour sauce, in a jar lasts for ages. I think of it as lazy cooking for myself and always have a few jars of various sauces hidden away in the cupboard for emergencies and nights where there just isn't enough time (which is most evenings for me!) I like sweet and sour sauce from the Chinese, and although I don't expect the same high standard and taste from a jar, something near it would be nice! The jar full or sauce serves a family of four medium sized portions. I cook the chicken / vegetables /whatever first and then add the sauce and let it simmer for the last few minutes. Both my partner and I enjoy cooking a meal from scratch in the kitchen and that includes cooking sauces sometimes though you just need a standby in the cupboard for a quick meal. I spotted the Weightwatchers range of sauces in Asda in the aisle with all the other cooking sauces and for £1.28 per jar now bear in mind that this only serves 2 people, ok if there are just 2 of you trying to lose weight but for the family you would probably need two jars.
